Social Media

Social media is a variety of tools and methods for interacting and communicating with others online. Popular tools include Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Kik, Snapchat, Instagram and so on.

Kids are no longer excited about Facebook and the vast majority have left. If you'd like to see where they are on social media and learn more about the tools, you can do so here.

If you use social media, it is highly recommended that you take caution when posting negative post/comments. Too often, teachers around the country have lost their jobs due to negative/unprofessional posting. Social media spreads at high speeds and most times, once posted, you can not control it.

When posting images of students to your webiste/blog, please make sure you have on file, the signed consent media release from parents. Students who do not have permission to be on social media outlets SHOULD NOT be posted under any circumstances. It is also recommended not to use entire names under images (example: Stacy or Stacy M).

Posting student work is encouraged. Student work on your Website/Blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc, will bring audiences from family and friends. Parents love to see what goes on in the classroom.
